The following update was received from the TVICE in response to the SABC's response and a plan of action going forward. Please advise your members to attend if you have not already done so.
URGENT: MASS MEETING OF THE TVIEC AND SUPPORTERS
The TVIEC is calling on all members and supporters to attend a mass meeting on Monday 22 June 2009 at Atlas Studios in Milpark. The meeting will commence at 16:00.
At the meeting we will be giving a report back on developments re SABC since the protest march. We will also be canvassing opinions and deciding what our next steps are.
The crisis in local broadcasting continues to deepen and so the struggle for a new SABC continues! We are making headway, and we’ve established ourselves as a major stakeholder in the industry. Let’s continue to strike while the iron is hot.
Our work is far from done, and many companies and individuals continue to be owed substantial amounts of money by the SABC.
Anyone who works in the TV Industry is welcome to attend, so please try and make this important meeting. Please forward this mail to all relevant parties.
