CAPE TOWN STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

Dear Film Industry Stakeholder

The COVID-19 coronavirus had forced us to put down our cameras and close our sets for the protection of human lives. Many of our brilliant scripts, concepts and finished projects had to be shelved because the entire world has ground to a halt. We now have an opportunity to pick up where we left off with some of our work.

With National Government allowing the film industry to resume work under level 4, the City of Cape Town has resumed its permit processing. The Film Permit Office has developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), in line with the Disaster Management Act regulations, to ensure all film workplaces are safe and curb any spread of the virus.

It is our collective responsibility, as we all go back to work, to ensure that we adhere to the protocols as well as all other applicable regulations in terms of hygiene on set to safeguard ours and the health of all those in production workplaces.

Good luck and stay safe!
