The Writers Guild of South Africa
(WGSA) is pleased to announce the launch of a new website. “Our new streamlined
site is finally live!” says Theoline Maphutha, WGSA Chairperson. “The first
phase of many more exciting things to come.”
With the launch, comes the
opening of submissions for the coveted WGSA Muse Awards for 2020. The WGSA Muse
Awards recognize and reward outstanding writing in film, television,
documentary, stage, radio, animation, and mobile/web series categories. An award
for writers by writers. Launched in 2013, the awards are specifically for
performance writers bestowed by their peers, shining a spotlight on the
outstanding work of our members, who are often the unsung custodians of South
Africa’s arts and culture.
