Greetings from the Gauteng Film Commission (GFC),
Mediating between the interests of the State,
Film industry and Society in Gauteng’s Audio-Visual Sector

The GFC reflects its mandate as follows:

To mediate between the interests of the State, industry and society in the Gauteng audio-visual sector,
To ensure that the audio-visual industry plays a meaningful role in job creation and socio-economic transformation, and
To be a major contributor to Gauteng’s positioning as the hub of Africa’s creative and cultural industries.

The closing date for proposal submissions to participate in the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme is close.

R140 million has been made available by government to re-build our industry.

Have you heard of the National Film and Video Foundation’s (NFVF) call for people to access the Presidential Stimulus employment fund to assist the industry to recover with a strong focus on job creation?

The Gauteng Film Commission, as an NFVF partner, assists in sector recovery and employment creation for the audio-visual industry.

In summary, the fund is worth R140 million and broken in two-fold:
Objective 1: Creation of new employment opportunities: R100 million (stream 1-3);
Objective 2: Retention of employment opportunities; R40 million (stream 4).
