This weekend SASFED lost a very valuable member of our Council and the wider audiovisual community – Milly Takalani Mulaudzi. Milly served as our Council Co-Chair during the last year – an unprecedented tumultuous time for our industry and the world at large. Milly steered the SASFED team, displaying exemplary leadership, profound understanding of the challenges which faced us (and continue to do so) and a warm regard and respect for all who interacted with her. She brought us through tremendously difficult interactions as we lobbied and fought for support for audiovisual practitioners. Through it all, she led collaborations with other organisations with thoughtful and transformative leadership. SASFED has lost a mighty member of our team and a mentor. We are a stronger and better organisation having been led by Takalani. Having been an active practitioner in the industry and in addition to her nurturing personality that we got to know so well, she went above and beyond her call of duty in the service of others and in the service of our audiovisual industry.
We will miss you greatly Milly. Thank you for all you have been to us and the South African audiovisual industry.
We send our sincerest condolences, love and support to her husband, her two children and her wider family, relatives and friends. We are all blessed for having known her.
