Wesgro is pleased to partner with Film Industry Visa Assistance NPC (FIVA) in order to lower the barrier of entry for 50 service production companies based in the Western Cape, by subsidizing the registration fee required to make use of FIVA’s services.

FIVA has been in operation since 2014 and currently has 309 South African service production companies and model agencies registered as users. Through its partnership with the Department of Home Affairs it has secured several specific directives which allow for waivers in the immigration regulations for foreign Film Production teams working in South Africa alongside South African service production companies. These waivers have made South Africa as a film production hub extremely attractive and accessible, as a result, FIVA has facilitated entry of more than 46 000 foreign production crew from 150 countries.

“Companies can grow when they have access to tools that will help them attract global trade, and this promotional offer for companies to access FIVA is a step towards attracting global business,” said Wesgro CEO, Tim Harris.

Western Cape based Production companies who are currently not registered with FIVA are encouraged to make contact with the FIVA office (info@fiva.tv) or the Wesgro Film and Media Promotion unit at film@wesgro.co.za to make use of this offer.
